Terminal Line

I use Berkley Big Game 12lb Mono as my terminal line for all my light action rigs.

For My Larger Rods, used primarily for Tarpon, Grouper and Cobia I use Berkley Big Game 60lb Mono

Leader

I use 25-30 Lb Floro-Carbon or Mono as my inshore leader

I tie my lines together using a simple surgeon’s knot

I use Split Shots Weights, crimped down by the knot and the hook, for easier casting and less of a bubble in the water

Cap’n Doug brings along all the gear and live bait you need for a successful day. If you decide to keep any of your catch, he’ll clean and fillet it for you after you’ve returned to the dock. Bring along any snacks you’d like to enjoy and you’re ready to head out!

Cap’n Doug will greet you aboard a 20’ Angler Catamaran Hull saltwater fishing boat. Built in 2000, the vessel was fully refurbished in 2019. It can comfortably take up to four anglers to fish in comfort and style.

Cap’n Doug’s boat is powered by a new 175 HP Yamaha engine and can cruise at a top speed of 35 knots. The boat is fully rigged with electronics and professional accessories. All aboard!

Explore Siesta Key, the number one rated beach in the country. Fish the beautiful inshore waters and chase down trophy Snook, Redfish, Trout, and Pompano. Check the bite in the backwaters or head up to 9 miles out. Get your hands on monster Cobia, Mangrove Snapper, Permit, Grouper, and Barracuda.

All trips come with live bait, licenses, quality Penn Fishing Tackle, cooler with ice and assorted beverages, Cap’n Doug will also clean your catch at the end of the trip.

The fishing is great year round, and the crew has the right vessel to put you on fish. You will join Cap’n Doug aboard his 20’ Angler center console. She is powered by a new 175 HP Yamaha engine, and can reach the speeds of up to 32 knots. The vessel is rigged with GPS, a fishfinder and a live bait well. The fishing is best done with up to four anglers onboard.

You will be fishing bay and back waters, searching for the likes of Redfish, Snook, Speckled Trout, Sharks, Mangrove Snapper and many more.

When you come onboard, you will get the rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait. The captain will provide the fishing license and will serve some drinks onboard. You can keep the catch and will get it cleaned and filleted. 

You should bring a cap, sunglasses, sunblock, put on comfortable clothes and footwear, pack some snacks, and take your camera with you. Cap’n Doug is a Veteran
