July Fishing Has Been HOT!
Well, We’ve been very busy this season, with all the Covid-19 awareness, folks have been flocking to Florida to get some time in the Sun all the while remaining Socially Responsible. The Mangrove Snapper have been thick through Sarasota Big Pass and just about everywhere you throw a bait. Many trips this month had their limit of Mangrove Snappers. Redfish, Snook and Speckled Trout still remain closed until next year in the Greater Sarasota Area, but no worries, there are plenty here to kiss and release and they’re eating a combination of phat shrimp, fresh caught white bait and an assortment of DOA CAL Jigs, Johnson Silver Minnows and Berkley Gulps. The kids that have been fishing on the Phat Katt II have been messin’ the fish up with something as simple as a jig tipped with shrimp, and BOOM-O, FISH ON! Sarasota Bay has been clearing up nicely since the red tide a few years back and we’ve been blessed with plenty of bait, pending you have a cast net. Remember, Get out there and get some bait wet. That’s the only way to catch fish, you can’t do it from your computer. Holla! Cap’n Doug (941) 587-6150
